Parental Guidance

Dear Parents:

Parental involvement in a child’s academic performance is very important and it is considered to be more significant than the qualities of the school the child is studying. Now researchers from several Universities all over the world have found this true.

Dr. Toby Parcel, a professor of sociology at North Carolina State University, said “Our study shows that parents need to be aware of how important they (the children) are, and invest time in their children – checking homework, attending school events and
letting kids know school is important."

The other important thing the parents are expected to do is disciplining their child. It's one of the hardest thing the parents are supposed to do. Positive discipline helps the child to grow up to be a happy and caring person who has respect for others, who has feeling good about oneself.

All the above give us one message – “importance of caring your child”. For years people have been saying this in many different ways. Following are some of the quotes you may like to read:

If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them
to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”

― Albert Einstein

Make it a rule never to give a child a book you would not read yourself.”

― George Bernard Shaw

"You have to love your children unselfishly. That is hard. But it is the only way."

― Barbara Bush, former U.S. first lady

Best wishes
